2010 Bob Rathwell Memorial Futsal Tournament
(UPDATE) We have now been approved for U21 Teams as well.On behalf of the Ottawa-Carleton Futsal League, we would like to invite your team to participate in the 2010 Bob Rathwell Memorial, an Open Women’s and Youth futsal tournament to held between January 15th and 17th 2010 in Ottawa, Ontario. The tournament is staged and timed to give participating teams a chance to build on their season progress and prepare for their league championships and other end-of-season competitions.
2010 Tournament Dates
Tournament dates are Friday January 15th 2010 through Sunday January 17th 2010. Game start times will be scheduled from 18:00-22:00 Friday, 8:00-18:30 Saturday and 8:00-17:30 Sunday. Special scheduling will be permitted for out of district teams.Age Groups
The tournament is open to both (a) Women’s and (b) Youth teams registered between Under 12 and Under 21, as of January 1, 2010.Classification
The tournament is open to all Canadian competitive and recreational women’s and youth futsal teams registered with their District / Provincial soccer association. All teams must be registered with their district association and play in a sanctioned indoor league (futsal/turf) in the 2009/2010 Fall/Winter season.Format
Qualifying group stage and elimination playoff round. Three games guarantee. The maximum number of games a team may play each day is three (3).Registration
Teams are accepted on a first come basis. Early registration is recommended. Teams not accepted into the tournament will be notified by email by January 1st, 2010. Entry deadline is December 31, 2009.Out of District teams must produce a Travel Permit from their home District Association authorizing the team to attend the tournament. All players must be registered in the appropriate tournament class to participate in the tournament. All players must provide validated player registration books in order to take part in the tournament. Unregistered players/teams will not be permitted to participate. Teams must carry and supply proof of insurance, injury and liability while participating in the event.
